Relationship Counselling
Couple and Relationship Counselling
Relationships can be one of the most meaningful sources of comfort, love and connection in our lives. When things begin to feel difficult, it can be deeply painful for both partners, leaving you feeling hurt, misunderstood, disconnected or emotionally worn down.
You may be here because something in your relationship no longer feels as it once did. Communication may have become strained, trust may have been affected, or emotional and physical closeness may feel more difficult to reach. Perhaps you find yourselves having the same arguments again and again, feeling stuck in patterns that leave you both frustrated, even though part of you still longs for things to feel better.
When relationship difficulties are left unspoken, they can gradually create distance and pain. Resentment may build quietly, and old wounds can begin to shape present-day arguments. You may recognise how a disagreement about something small can suddenly carry the weight of many past hurts.

How Counselling Can Help
The counselling cabin offers you a new space to learn new ways to communicate, to spot repeating patterns of behaviour, to listen and be heard. Couples counselling is not about deciding who is right or wrong. It is about gently slowing things down, making sense of what is happening between you, and helping you learn a safer, more understanding way of relating to one another.
My role is to help improve the relationship, without judgment, interruption or blame. I do not take sides. I pay close attention to the way you communicate in the room and look for the patterns in your relationship as they unfold.
Together, we can explore:
- How communication breaks down
- The patterns that keep repeating
- Where conversations become stuck
- The emotions that sit beneath conflict
- How past experiences continue to affect the present relationship
- What can change when each person understands their own part more clearly
As understanding grows, it often becomes easier to respond to one another in new ways. Many couples find that counselling helps them feel more connected, calmer during moments of conflict, and more able to share their feelings and needs with honesty and respect.
Reasons Couples Reach Out
Couples come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be seeking support with:
- Communication difficulties
- Frequent arguments or unresolved conflict
- Rebuilding trust after betrayal
- Emotional disconnection or a lack of intimacy
- Parenting or family pressures
- Stress, anxiety or outside pressures affecting the relationship
- Life transitions, grief or major changes
- Feeling stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns
Reaching out for support does not mean your relationship has failed. For many couples, it is a meaningful step towards understanding one another more deeply, strengthening communication and rebuilding a sense of closeness.
Frequency Of Sessions and How Many Will I Need?
Most couples attend therapy weekly, and the first 4 sessions are particularly important, as this consistency helps build a strong therapeutic relationship and supports meaningful progress. In some circumstances, fortnightly sessions may be an option, and we can discuss if needed. I generally recommend committing to at least six sessions initially.
Who I Work With
Every couple is welcome, married, not married, monogamous, polyamorous, and those labelled as a situationship. Heterosexual, same-sex and those from different cultural backgrounds, particularly those with connections to India, Pakistan, the Caribbean and Europe. My counselling cabin is open to ALL relationships.
Cost and Length of Each Session
Each session is £75.00 and lasts 50 minutes.
