Welcome – if you’re here you are probably wondering if I am the right counsellor for you. Let me help you decide.
People who struggle with anxiety, loss, addiction, depression and low self-esteem benefit from working with me.
Couples come to counselling when they want support to improve communication, navigate conflict, and rebuild and strengthen their connection.
I'm a warm, caring and approachable person who is genuinely committed to supporting you as you move forward.
My holistic background integrates my knowledge, experience and way of being from my core training as a Person-Centred Counsellor, which means I provide clients with an opportunity to develop a deeper ‘sense of self’; helping them to recognise their own attitudes, feelings and behaviour. Helping them to find their true positive ‘self’ and develop greater self-awareness to reach their full potential.
Alongside my Person-Centred approach, I draw on techniques from Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT). Mindfulness practices help enhance focus. Yoga and breathwork support emotional and physical well-being.
I completed my Degree in Arts of Counselling and Level 4 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 2012.
In 2013, the counselling cabin was built, and Absolute Counselling was established. The counselling cabin is tucked away at the bottom of my garden.
In the early days of my counselling career, I worked primarily with individuals, gradually developing my skills and broadening the range of issues I felt confident and comfortable supporting clients with.
In 2018, I expanded my work into the workplace, partnering with local companies to support their employees with counselling and emotional wellbeing. Workplace counselling has become a stable part of Absolute Counselling and has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the pressures people can experience in life and in the workplace. Many of these people wouldn't seek counselling out for themselves. Early intervention reduces poor mental health. Helping companies reduce stress, improve well-being, and strengthen performance across their teams improves mental well-being in and out of the workplace.
The counselling cabin is at the bottom of my garden, in Telford. The walk down the garden provides you with a little time to transition from life outside into the therapy room. The space is for you to explore your worries, your experiences, behaviours and opportunities for change.
The counselling cabin offers a view of the garden. Very few sessions happen without a visit from a squirrel or a number of birds, providing a calming, safe place to feel supported as the process of therapy unfolds.
