Why I don't ask clients for reviews or testimonials
You may notice that I don't have a collection of client testimonials or ask clients to leave reviews about their counselling experience.
This is a conscious decision based on my commitment to working ethically and putting my clients' wellbeing, privacy and therapeutic relationship first.
Counselling is a personal and confidential experience, and I believe clients should never feel that they are expected or encouraged to promote my services as part of their therapeutic journey. Even when a request is made with the best intentions, a client may feel a sense of obligation to provide a positive review or testimonial, particularly when they have developed a trusting therapeutic relationship with their counsellor.
For this reason, I do not ask, suggest or encourage current or former clients to provide testimonials, Google reviews or other endorsements of my counselling service.
This is part of my commitment to maintaining clear professional boundaries, respecting confidentiality and ensuring that the focus remains where it belongs, on the client and their individual therapeutic experience.
Professional endorsements
While I don't seek testimonials from clients, I am grateful for the professional relationships I have developed with organisations and EAP providers who have chosen to work with Absolute Counselling.
Where appropriate, I may share professional endorsements or feedback from organisations I work with, with their permission. These endorsements reflect professional working relationships and the service I provide to organisations and their employees, rather than the confidential experiences of individual counselling clients.
I believe this provides a way of sharing feedback about my professional service while maintaining the privacy and boundaries of the people who access counselling.
My aim is always to be transparent about how I work and to ensure that the trust placed in me by clients and professional partners is treated with care and respect.
